Minecraft-Cabin.com

A catalogue of resources for Minecraft Players. Built with ClassicPress.

Minecraft-Cabin.com is a small website catalogue of resources for Minecraft Players. It is built with ClassicPress, a fork of WordPress based on WordPress 4.9.

This is a side project of mine that I built for fun and also as a demonstration of how WordPress / ClassicPress can still be a functional site without dependence on too many plugins.

Initially I built this site in WordPress, and when I learned about ClassicPress I thought this project would be a good fit. Switching to ClassicPress was a breeze. I was working on a local copy of WordPress using LocalWP (a tool for developers to work with WP on their computer), and used the ClassicPress Migration plugin to migrate my site.

The theme for this website is custom-built using the Bulma CSS framework. The other features in use on this site are:

  • Custom Post Type for Resources – Built into the theme – no plugin required.
  • Custom Fields – It uses the custom fields that come with the ClassicPress core.
  • Classic SEO Plugin for ClassicPress – It has similar features to the Yoast Plugin
  • A Ko-fi.com JavaScript widget

I hope to be able to add more content to the site in the future. Although the name is somewhat unoriginal, I hope the vibe will resonate with Minecraft players.

Minecraft Calculator

Custom resource calculator for Minecraft - built with JavaScript.

This website is a personal project that I've been working on for a few months in my spare time. This calculator makes building large projects in Minecraft Survival easier by providing an organized list of ingredients needed to craft Minecraft items. The website is custom built using JavaScript, jQuery, and the Bulma CSS framework. The background image and item graphics are from Minecraft.

My main goal for this site was to expand my JavaScript skills with a project that was interesting, and where I could do something original.

I plan to add new game items as the upcoming versions of Minecraft are released. I may add additional features to the site later if I have time to return to it.
